The study also highlights a strong focus on privacy and ethical considerations:
AI Adoption and Usage
- Nearly 93% of Indian organizations use AI for various functions, with the highest adoption in software development and coding (47%), customer service (41%), product development (37%), and decision support (32%).
- India ranks among the top countries for enterprise AI adoption, with 46% of businesses actively using AI tools.
Privacy and Ethical Measures
- About 71% of organizations have strengthened their privacy frameworks after adopting AI, implementing guardrails, ethics reviews, and data minimization practices as part of their workflows.
- 92% of businesses have dedicated privacy teams or officers, a figure higher than the global average.
- 61% of organizations have established AI ethics committees, and over half (about 65%) allocate more than 20% of their IT budget to privacy protection.
- 56% follow data minimization for AI training, and 55% conduct regular privacy audits of their AI systems.
Challenges and Upskilling
- Major hurdles to AI adoption include poor data quality (44%), regulatory compliance (39%), and lack of technical expertise (38%).
